Happy Fall! :)

Hello to one & all! Honestly I did not mean to hold back posting till after the first day of fall but being very busy plus slow internet when you have time to update makes for wide spaces between posts!

                                            Meet Jane:
She happily sits in the corner of my sisters schoolroom with some pumpkins & squash, (this was before the pumpkins & squash were there) Dorcas found her & she probably comes from China but I do like her!:)

I am currently working on some pages for my blog, such as; Favorite Songs ~ Quotes  & Proverbs ~ Links~ etc. Perhaps there will also be a guest book?  The reason is to hopefully make this a little more interesting(I said hopefully) Please tell me if it is boring 'cause I don't like boring things! :)

This coming Saturday my sister is coming for a week, bringing her little family with her:) It will be fun (to state the obvious!)

Wishing you all a good day until next time:)

Who agrees...

...that beautiful, breezy, fall days are a gift from God & God alone?

This morning I woke up to the sound of birds singing, leaves rustling, a coolness that was fresh air coming through the window & blue skys.  What more could I have asked for?!

                         around me
The happiness and beauty of it all
So many good things if everyone
                        Could find some
Look and try to see within your heart
                       All good things

Pictures & such from my week

And so... we see that I did not update last week so from that I hope to excuse myself.  About my time in OH...
I got there on Fri. (July 30) & came home yesterday, I was there a total of nine days. The last weekend the rest of my sisters were there too, it was such fun to have all five of us together like that! Now for pictures:

Aubrey & Kyler eating supper at their little table in the living room

Rhoda & Aubrey in their matching dresses

Mr. Kyler with a dirty mouth :)

Kyler standing on the corn hole game looking very dejected

                                                        All of us sisters

                                The beautiful Dorcas taking pictures:)

Don't they look like the cutest little couple?:)

Aubrey is busy at her desk

Don't you love that adoring look?

                                            Dry bread... how yummy!

Saturday we went out on the lake, perhaps Kyler is watching all of us in the water,(he was scared to go in)

                                                  Aubrey & her mommy

One last picture of us all (except Wes, he was taking the picture)
 ***********************************************************
Quotables from the week:
One night Wes was trying to explain to Aubrey the difference between a "him" & a "she", when he was finished explaining Aubrey very seriously asked if Kyler was a 'himshe'.
One night last week Wes decided to give himself a buzz, the next night at supper we were talking about it & Aubrey said; was Daddy with the bee's?
She also said; I have the ticcups! (hiccups)

 Have a wonderful day!

Update on my life...

This blog hasn't been very "newsy" lately. Thus I shall try to make up for it.                                                                                                                                                                                                     A few weeks ago our church had Vacation Bible School. My sis. Dorcas taught the youngest class & Mom helped the first few nights but then was down with her back so I had to help, we had 15-17 children each night & their favorite part of the evening was snack (we would make popcorn, dump it out on a sheet and they would sit around & eat it while listening to a story) we had popcorn 3 times & I think they were getting tired of it, the last might they said; are we having popcorn AGAIN? We didn't.

Here are pics. of them all, sorry there aren't any where you can plainly see all the children.

By the way, this night we were having ice cream bars & chips:)

This is Taylor, she was so happily helping me pick up the crayons.

Of Frogs and Cream

The following is from the book Hell's Best Kept Secret by Ray Comfort -

Kick with All Your Heart  -
Two frogs  jumped into a bowl of cream and got stuck. One said to himself, "How did I ever get into this bowl of cream? I just can't seem to get out, so I might as well sink back down and drown. Besides, there are plenty of worse ways for a frog to die- I could be torn to pieces by a cat! Yes, that's what I'll do-- I'll just sink down in this cream and drown."   The second frog said to himself,  "No way will I croak in a bowl of cream! I refuse to die easily-- I'm going to fight this with all my strength! If I do go down, I'm going down with flags flying!"    He began to kick, splash, and flap his little flippers. He would not give up! Every ounce of energy was put into kicking against that cream until a strange thing happened. That cream thickened because of his constant kicking until finally it turned to butter, and he leaped out of it!       The first frog died of an inferiority complex. The second frog was in the same bowl of cream, but his attitude was different. As you begin to kick out that particular "cream," whatever it may be, by God's grace, that weakness will eventually be conquered, and you will leap out of it with great rejoicing. Remember, the attitude you have about your particular problem will determine your victory. Do you really want to be free? Do you really want to be used of God? If so, begin kicking with all your heart.

The other day I  found this & I really liked it. This particular story is somewhat far fetched but it has a really good point. Do I always just give in to temptations or do I kick against it with all my heart really wanting to break free?  Kick with all your heart against the snares of the devil.

When a Christian is fighting against the devil, he will always have God on his side fighting with him.

Fun times with cousins...

This week some of my wonderful cousins came for a few days, with it came great conversation. :) They gave a concert  Tuesday night & were with us Wednesday & some of Thursday, here are some pictures.
                                                    "Glory to His name!"

Denver, Taylor, Liz, & Hudson singing "Go-Go"

On Wednesday Mom & Aunt Becky took some of the younger children swimming while us girls went to thrift stores, (our style of shopping, esp. when one of them is having a 10 cent sale!) went to a coffee shop & walked right past a little fudge shop without going in because none of us were hungry, it's probably a good thing too!
                                                    The '10 cent' store...

An antique store with all kinds of hats.

And yes, coffee drinks & sundae's.

Chelsy enjoying her ice cream. :)

All of us together...  love you all!

My God...

My God never takes anything from me unless He plans to give me something better! My God doesn't see me as small or unworthy - to Him I'm not hopeless or lost... my Savior beholds me with grace that enfolds me - to Him I was worth Calvary's cross! [my] God thundereth marvelously with His voice; great things doeth He, which we cannot comprehend. Job 37:5 These are some things I love about my God! They are promises that I often take for granted. What has God promised you?
